how can i save my money and earn money?

i am only 12 and need to know how to save money.im saving up for a ps3 but i always see something i wanna buy and cant help but to spend it and i dont get money that much i only have 50 dollars right now. and what are some ways i can earn money i dont get allowance and dont get paid for doing chores and my mom wont let me go around my neiborhood and try to do things like mow lawns and car washes so i need to know some other ways.and i think i might start getting 5 dollar allowance a week. and my birthday is in september.

4. get a paper route. im 14 and i have one. make about 20 to 50 bucks a week. resist the urge to buy stuff. sell stuff on ebay, i dont know what else
5. If your folks wont let you ask your neighbors, maybe they will let you ask your relatives if you can do odd jobs or chores around their houses to earn some extra money. It might be a good idea to open a bank account to keep your money in if you have a hard time saving. Since you are only 12 it'll be harder for you to spend your money if you have to get a ride to the bank to get it.
6. First I would open a savings account. Try a Washington Mutual account, they don't require a starting balance, so you can start the account with very little money. Once you put your money in the savings account you wont want to spend it so quickly because you wont have it. Since your mom wont let you get a job you are going to have to just keep saving all the money you find or your birthday money and put it into your account. I would ask for spare change that your mom or other family member's have and put it into a jar. That stuff adds up after a while.
