- look up website of philippine retirement authority. the govt has a special visa program for retirees and investors that will qualify them to live in the philippines. im not sure but i think US$ 50,000 will be enough for you to have a piece of this ' paradise'. foreigners are very welcome in the country and you may just feel like royaty once here.
- it's really not that difficult to move in the Philippines since the cost of living here is cheaper as compare to the US but the thing is Filipinos think that since you have US citizenship Filipinos will think that you are a money tree and a milking cow.....
- The link below will bring you to the Frequently Asked Questions page of the Philippine Retirement Authority's website. http://www.pra.gov.ph/main/faq?page=1 Have a nice day !
- Hello, Well 250,000 USD is enough to retire on if you want to live a small humble life. Check out the cost of living data base in my yahoo group. I have it broken down into different areas of the Philippines.
- well, if ur married u just have to go to the process... if ur single, then ur in luck.... maybe ur soul mate is somewhere in the philippines....
- How can anyone answer this question without knowing your age, what interest will you collect on your $250,000, lifestyle, expectations, do you plan on opening a business, etc? If you only are going to live about ten years and then die you can probably live pretty well those ten years especially in the provinces. If you have only $250,000 an no other income and expect to live off the interest on the $250,000 I think that is impossible. You could actually come to the Philippines and stay on a Tourist Visa the rest of your life if you wanted to. It is not complicated to move to the Philippines. If you want to work or open a business which I would expect you would have to do in order to generate additional income you will have to get a Residence Visa and this is simple, but requires you put up a bond and depending on your age it ranges from $10,000 up. Check out the site that was suggested and there are many others than that one.
- here's the information from the Phil Bureau of immigration re retirement visas: http://immigration.gov.ph//index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=18&Itemid=80
- Theres an American Legion in Balibago Angeles city. Very closed to the Macapagal international airport formerly Clark Air Base.
- it's really easy actually. basically, sell all your stuff or ship it over here to the philippines. buy or build a house. and dont tell your extended family that you have $250,000 because within a few years.... well...... just dont tell them okay! and that's it! :D
- It's easy. I moved here in 2002 and have been here ever since. There is allot of good free info at www.livinginthephilippines.com . There is also a link to our yahoo group livinginthephilippines3 which has 6,000 plus members. Lots of people living here in the Philippines in differant areas.
- Yes good Question.. yes don't tell no one that you have that much money because you might be DEAD within 90 days of staying there. 5 years from now we are moving there retirement plan we have house there already. I'm from Philippines but yes i do scared. but we gonna do what we have to do because cheap. while back in the US is pretty expensive. have a good luck to you.
