  2. Sad isn't it? It's like a kid that hade his favorite toy taken away. I will miss seeing his highlights on Sundays.
  3. Brett Favre will be missed by many fans of football.
  4. Now that's a real man......................I love him, he's the best.
  5. that lt for president guy is just jealous that his qb (rivers) sucks so hard that when he retires nobody will really care. GO PACK!
  6. Let the flood gates open. Now that brett favre had his press conference we should see another day or two more of questions. I'm really curious to see how long this will last.
  7. if he is emoti0nal, then he has right to be! he is one of best ever, and walking away from something that has given you your life! is hard for any normal person!
  8. I would say it is about time. Let's move on to people who still play.
  9. Brett Favre retired????? Where have I been for the past week?????
  10. He's had an excellent career, and I think he's a child at heart. (meaning he plays the game because it's fun!) A great athlete to watch. I think it's a good idea that he retires though, because think about it, he ended his career on a real high note!
  11. its hard to see him go. i even got a lil teary eyed when he was crying.
  12. Hi, I'm Jacob. I have been a Packer fan for many years. Brett Favre has always been my idol on the field. I've collected many of his football cards, and have been watching him on T.V. since he has started. I have grown up wanting to be a Pro Football Quarterback. When I was 6, I would play football with my friends, pretending I WAS Brett Favre. I remember crying with happiness when the Packers went to the Super Bowl back in the 96-97 season... I was so happy. Now, years later, I'm 21 years old, and have since moved away. I'm not fit enough to play football anymore, and have faced reality and the fact that I'll never be the pro quarterback that I've always wanted to be. But I do still watch Brett every game, and still hoot & holler every time he throws a deep bomb downfield. I can still capture the awe and happiness; The exact "feeling" that I've always had as a kid while watching him play. I still have an autographed card of his, that I received after sending him a 3 page letter back when I was 7... In fact, its sitting in a hard case right this second, at the front of my dresser. The other day, I turned on the TV only to find out that my team leader...my idol... my childhood hero was retiring. My heart sank into my stomache, and a tear dripped down my face. After these 16 years, the time has finally come, to watch my childhood hero walk away from the feild for the very last time.
  13. Of course it is emotional. Football is all he has known which has been with the best NFL team....the Green Bay Packers. Remember, he is only human and does have emotions as well. To back it up, Favre has only known football for the last 24+ years dating back to high school. I knew it would be an emotional retirement speach.
  14. I'm 23 and the only Packer quarterback i know is Brett Favre. I live & have grown up in Green Bay, Wisconsin for my whole life, been to many packer games-through the horrible performance he had against the Tennessee Titans on Monda night football a few years ago, the celebrity softball games, watching the NFL draft live at lambeau field atrium, and of course the last game that brett played in against the Giants. For a man to get up & be on stage in front of millions is truly a sight to see for my eyes, a man who shows such compassion for just a game, his fans, and teammates. Would have wished he had come back for another run at the Super Bowl, don't know if i really believe his reasons are "true" for retiring, but he deserves an ovation for his toughness & ability. I'll miss his slapping the ref in the final game, what a memory!
