retirement oz

As a Miami fan, I am also a Pittsburgh, and a Green Bay Fan. Why did Brett Favre retire?

In a way I think he did the right thing because if he would be back, he can easily get an injury because he's not young like when he was in his 20's. The way I think was a mistake because if just the packers defense get more stronger, than maybe next year they would go to the superbowl and win it. You have to admit the Giants did play better than the packers the whole game, but the Giants almost lost it mentally. If u watched that game well, the giants really deserved to win. Even though he retired, Aaron Rodger proved that he can throw 2 touchdowns against dallas last year, and that's pretty good. Now with the rodger on the line, we would see green bay win the superbowl in 2 or 3 years later. If brett was back, they would win it next year.

  1. he really just couldn't handle the mental preparation anymore. he mentioned, "the older i got, the more i had to prepare for each game, and the more stress i was facing. when i was younger, i was like, bring it on. it is different now days. i am not young anymore." also, Favre has noted in recent weeks that injuries were piling up more frequently. none that were serious enough to keep him from playing, but they were noticeable to him. last, he spoke of his intuition. he simply said he had a bad feeling of coming back next season. he doesn't know whether it would be a poor season or a horrible injury, but he did not feel comfortable coming back. after 17 years in the NFL, he is not ready to continue his committment as a QB.
  2. I do fully believe that if Brett was able to put everything into this last year for a Super Bowl run, with the cast GB has now, they DEFINETELY have a great shot at winning it all. It hasn't been this good since '95-'98 around here. But, like he explained in his press conference, he is mentally tired. And if he can't play with the same passion and ability that he expects of himself, I respect his decision to part ways with the NFL. Basically I think he himself would have a worse year if he came back with the 'tired mentally' thing - he'd put too much pressure on himself, like he did in '04-'05, and force throws, basically losing games for us.
  3. favre was mentally tired. he didnt want to come back unless he knew he would win a superbowl.
  4. you dont realise how tough it is week in and week out to prepare and think and take that beating. he said phsyically he could play, but mentally was not up for it. mental is more important than physical.
  5. He just became tired and stressed up. But my personal belief is that since Green Bay couldn't get Randy Moss, Favre sorta quit his Super Bowl dreams. If the two veterans would've teamed up, it would've been one hell of a team.
  6. Look Brett Favre retired because Packers can't get Randy Moss.. common Brett want to have gay sex with Randy.. and that's the reason dawg..
