Brett Favre retires.... is Rodgers the answer?

Sure he looked good the few times he played last year, but can he stay healthy? Should the Pack pursue Brady Quinn? Which other qbs shoudl they pursue?

  1. Brett farve was okay. he was never a superstar. Rodgers is going to be the next montana
  2. No, THE PACKERS SUCK NOW!! OMG i am not going to school now. IT SHOULD BE A STATEWIDE DAY OF MOURNING.
  3. Rodgers has had such little playing time no one can claim to know. He looked adequate in the game against the Cowboys, though.
  4. I think Rodgers is going to surprise people this coming season. He has spent what, 3 or 4 seasons learning the playbook and practicing even though he didn't get as many reps as say Rivers, or Manning he still has some experience and is seasoned. Don't be surprised if he doesn't do quite well for the Packers this year. And no I don't think the Packers should pursue Quinn they should look for somebody like Billy Volek who is a free agent just in case Rodgers falters.
  5. I feel sorry for Rodgers. The pressure and lack of acceptance he's gonna have to face next season.
  6. they need to get another veteran Qb. Favre was a great Qb but now I believe they should try Rogers out. He has to stay healthy. if he cant do this in the 2008-2009. I wouldnt be suprised for them to draft A rookie in the 09-10 season
  7. rodgers will CRACK under the pressure, how are you guna fill brett favres shoes? i say the pak finish 6-10 or 7-9 this season.
  8. this situation reminds me of when Young came out from Montana's shadow..
  9. With the way they set up this team I dont think Rodgers has to be anywhere near a Favre for them to stay competitive. They have a solid O-line and a very solid running game so Rodgers only needs to manage the game well and make high percentage passes. He also got the luxury of sitting and learning (too many get thrown into the fire and fail). The toughest job for him will be to step away from Bretts shadow, GB fans will be brutal every time he makes even 1 bad pass. If he can overcome that and follow the GB gameplan he should be fine....if not they will backslide badly (surely they will find a top veteran backup just in case). Going after Quinn wont make sense, 2 unprovens is a dangerous way to live. Culpepper, Todd Collins or maybe even Jake Plummer comes out of retirement. It will be someone with a lot of experience.
  10. I dunno, I think that Rodgers has enough good receiving options to make him look better than he probably is and I think he can make them at least a decent team next year, but, yes they should try to get a QB, but if I were them I would try either picking one up in Round 2 this year or pick Brian Brohm if he is still available late in the 1st or just wait till next year to grab one in the draft.
  11. i think rodgers will do fine and make a name for himself...was brett favre really the answer...with 1 superbowl ring..i dont think he has been the answer for years...do u remember all those years they made the playoffs as an 8-8 mediocre team..people enjoy not mentioning how favre has another record..most INT thrown in GB history
  12. FAVRE SUCKED THANKS THOMPSON FOR THROWING HIM OUT
