Overseas...how to keep in touch?

I am spending 2 months overseas this summer with a host family. What is the best way to keep in touch with family and friends online? I was thinking maybe some kind of site where I can blog, post pictures, and my friends and family can leave comments or messages. Any ideas?? Thanks bunches!
