Poll: How much would you say is a good amount to save every month?
I've been saving £350 every month without fail since I was 18 (I'm now 23) I've never touched that money and it's slowly beginning to grow into quite a sizable little pot. Would you say I'm doing the right thing, what else could I do? I hear so much talk about the need to save for our pensions now and it's pretty scary just thinking about this so anything that you can share is greatly appreciated. Oh!! and for my poll, how much would you or do you save every month? Appreciate your input ^_^

- thats sounds good
- Wow, lucky you! I haven't got £350 spare each month to save, I'm lucky if I save £20 a week!
- 20% of your income.
- 1 Billion Dollars DUN DUN DUNNNNN
- I think any amount is good but 10% of your gross wages would be a good goal to set.
- Together my husband and I saved £1,000 a month, however that has now gone on our house, and we wont be able to save anything for a while when we start paying a mortgage. £350 is a very good amount, and you should know that when every one else is on the street at 70, you will have something to fall back on... just dont be silly and think oh i should by that expensive car or go on a month long holiday...
- Try to save at least 5-10 percent of your monthly income. More if you can swing it.
- I have heard that if you save 25% of your monthly income that would be a good amount.Sounds to me that you are doing a great job of saving your money so keep up the good work.
- Your doing a great job, keep it up. As for Pension, look into it. it never hurts to start early, the more you have the better life style you can have when you retire.
- Answer: Don't just save it - put it into a "pension pot". The way things are going, the government won't be paying old age pensions by the time you'll retire and you'll need everything you have ! -
- Good on ya!! don't get a girlfriend, or it will be gone before you know it!! I would like to be able to save $100 a month.. that little amount would make me happy..... sadly, however, I can not!
- good for you, your lucky to do it, be grateful that you can, but why be the richest man money's money's if ought happened to you, i hope you have provided for your wife &daughters welfare, and when your life ends you can not take it with you, you come into the world with nothing, you leave as such. id spend it on a nice holiday, you cant work work work all the time, all work and no play makes jack a dull boy so they say.
