Party stereotypes. Republicans r 4 rich, Dems 4 everyone else?
The Republican party is full of scandal and powerful money-holders. According to many Dems, the Rep party is for rich white men and corporations. That is not my opinoin, just what I have heard so many Dems say. But, if the Democrats are supposed to be for all of the other (non-rich) white people, and all of the minorities, than why is there never a retired electrician or coal miner running for Democratic office? Why is it always just another rich white person, who certainly didn't aquire their wealth "helping" people? The closest thing to having one of their constituents come to office is Obama, and they are destroying him. Yet the people who are supposed to be represented by them will continue to vote Democrat. Why?

- All Republicans and Christians are racist except for some. All Republicans are rich.
- It's not a stereotype, it's true. Republicans always support tax breaks for the rich. When republicans are in office the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. It's not a stereotype or an opinion, it's fact.
- Republicans are not for the rich. They are for less government, more money in your pocket, and less regulation.
- All Republicans want to grow the national debt and increase the size and power of the federal government. All Democrats want to cut corporate welfare and taxes for the middle and lower classes, and cut taxes on the young and unborn by cutting the debt. This isn't always true. For example, Joe Lieberman tends to support the GOP in government power, while Ron Paul is more against government spending than the Democrats. Former GOP Senator Lincoln Chaffee is another exception, but he recently became an independent.
- First of all I have to tell you are wrong because republicans help our nation unlike democrats. Republicans make less taxes giving people with jobs the ease to afford things. But with a democrat president most of the time taxes will be raised and the money will be given to the poor. This does sound good but it isnt. Democrats basicaly want to take all of the money from the rich and middle class that work extremley hard and give it to the people that are poor and dont work or work hard at all. Especially universal health care. This is how life should go: If you want health care work hard for it. If not you cant get it. Democrats think oppositly. They want to take away from the hard working (rich and middle class) and give to people that dont do anything and sit around waiting not working (poor). Go republicans Troll Hunter is Right
- The average Joe who earns an honest day pay doesn't stand a chance against a professional politician. Hillary is a pro, she knows every dirty trick in the book and has no problem using all of them. You won't find many electricians who'd be willing to sell their soul to lead our country.
- Wrong !!! Democrats generally believe in heavy fines for honest work, while rewarding sloth and indulgence. Do YOU think that people should be able to do absolutely nothing productive and get government hand-outs for sloth and indulgence - healthcare, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, STDs, etc. ?? Do YOU want to have YOUR MONEY TAKEN from YOU and YOUR FAMILY to FINANCE these people ??? I want to be able to KEEP most of my hard earned paycheck, instead of having the Democrats TAKE it for their government hand-out programs !!! John F. Kennedy, a Democrat, was sworn in as the 35th President of THE United States of America, at noon on January 20, 1961. In his inaugural address he spoke of the NEED for ALL Americans to be ACTIVE CITIZENS, famously saying, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." Please NOTICE that it said DEMOCRAT - NOT Socialist and / or Communist Democrat !! It means this country is only as strong as the people in it. It means get off your a$$ and do something!!! .
- Because a coal miner or retired electrician would not have the qualifications or the knowledge to run for office, but then Obama doesn't have the experience either. And we are not destroying him, he did this to himself. If he had left this church and told the American people about this and that he did not agree with it instead of letting it come out in the news, people would be more trusting. But he didn't, he kept going to this church and you can't tell me he did not know what was going on, kept calling this man his mentor and knowing what this man was all along. Unforgivable.
- Exactly what A proud republican said. Republicans generally want less government interference and believe the government is for overseeing and running to keep the country going. Republicans believe that people need to pursuit life on their own terms and can't look to the government to get them out of every jam, its not the government's fault, its your own. Basically, the government wants people to take responsibility for themselves. I'm not rich, not by a long shot and I still vote republican.
- Pay attention to what Proud American, Helioocean and Cuzziman have said (that way, I don't have to retype what they've already said). I am not rich nor am I religious. I'm Republican because my views are more similar to Republican views than Democratic views. I believe that you should earn something if you want it, you should be rewarded for working, not punished. You should NOT be rewarded for NOT working. People shouldn't depend on the government for everything, and the government shouldn't control everything. It's that simple.
- I'm seeing a lot of good answers here. Republicans firmly believe in earning their keep. Maybe that's why so many people think republicans are all rich, The best way to get rich is to work for it. Government checks won't get you there. I know that for a fact.
- I say anarchist are better for America
- Don't get hung up on stereotypes and don't believe that something must be true because you heard it repeated by a lot of people. They may be misinformed or dishonest. Check the facts. The fact is the tax cuts from the Republicans go disproportionately to the wealthiest Americans. This is easily verifiable. People who work for a living pay income tax rates as high as 35% plus 7.6% more fore FICA plus an additional 7.6% if they are self employed. Wealthy people who earn most of their income from their investments pay capital gains and dividend taxes that max at 15% since the Bush tax cuts. There was almost no benefit to the economy from these tax cuts for the wealthy except a slight temporary boost to the stock market. The theory behind these "supply side" tax cuts is more wealth in the hands of the investor class results in more investments in companies that can then grow and create more jobs. The reality is there was no need for more investment capital as markets were correcting from an excess of investment in the stock market bubble, and the wealthy investor class had no need for a reduction in their tax rates. It would have helped the economy much more if the tax cuts had been targeted for working class and middle class people with some of them being taxed near 50% on their income. These people would have spent the extra money and stimulated the economy and created more jobs. http://www.cbpp.org/4-14-04tax-sum.htm http://www.counterpunch.org/freeman05302003.html These tax cuts also result in imbalances that cause economic problems that hurt the economy. One of the main reasons the US Dollar is dropping like a rock is because the Republican tax cuts and an expensive unnecessary and dishonest war are creating large federal budget deficits. When the value of your dollars declines, life gets more difficult for the average working people and it gets harder to pay the bills. Its this hidden tax of inflation that hits the poor and working class people the hardest. Its partly because the working and middle class people have been squeezed to hard by bad Republican policies that many of them are not able to make mortgage payments now. Republicans generally believe regulations interfere with the magic of the markets. Yet, it is primarily failure to regulate that causes things like the current crisis in the financial markets. Republican economic policies are too heavily based on extreme ideological beliefs and not based in the reality. The reality is that regulations define the parameters that markets can operate in. Some regulations are effective and others are not, but it is a mistake to suggest they are not necessary. Its true Democrats are more likely to support programs that ensure the elderly, disabled and poor have food, shelter and medical care, but that makes much more sense than taxing the working people at the highest rates and devaluing the currency to allow the wealthiest Americans to pay the lowest tax rates. The Democratic Party is more diverse than the Republican Party, but I don’t think the race of a candidate should be a primary factor in choosing who will serve your best interests.
