How much will our overseas pay be?

I am former military, but I've never had a tour overseas (this Marine has always been stateside). My husband is an A1C in the AF and he is going on a one year remote unaccompanied tour to Osan in Korea this summer, in July. The man hides things from me, and treats our marriage like an oddly run business. It's sad that I don't know the answer to this, but will he be getting overseas pay, and if so, how much? Also, he makes me pay half the rent (despite the fact that we obviously get BAH/BAS), I was wondering if I could talk to anyone to have the part of the BAH added to his paycheck immediately go to our rent because I'm a full time student now, as well as a mom. And when he's gone, I'll basically be a single mom (although my daughter isn't his in the first place). Sometimes, I think he just married me for the $$$. Well, this isn't Yahoo "Personal Relationships Problems" Answers, so I'll quit yakkin'. Thanks for the answers! ***It's our money, not just his ;) We're married, not friends. He sees no problem in taking everyone of my paychecks. I had rank on him and earned more (obviously) and he still insisted on "fixing" our "finances." I know how the whole BAH/BAS spiel goes, I don't even know why I asked about the alotment. I guess I was in a tizzy. But thanks to everyone for the great answers. ****Without being married to me, he wouldn't be getting BAH/BAS.

  1. Try talking with your units FRG. I am sure they have the answers you want or they can tell you who to talk ot in the chain of command to get the answers. Oveseas pay isn't that much. I have a son at Camp Casy on the DMZ in Korea. The pay won't offset your BAH!
  2. All I can think of that you'll get extra is $250/month family separation pay. As for the other part, all the military can force him to provide to you is the BAH w/ dep amount. Remember it's his pay not yours. But he sounds like a real knucklehead if he isn't supporting you adequately.
  3. BAH is automatically added to his paycheck. It's figured in with everything else. And when he goes to Osan, he'll continue to receive the BAH in your state because you are there. And as far as making more money, he'll get paid wife separation pay or something like that while he is in Korea and that is two hundred dollars and some change... I know this doesn't give you any exacts. Try googling it though, you'll at least get his base pay and what his bah is. My husband is an Airman and just finished a tour in Korea, and that is how it went for us. Hope I answered some of your questions. PSH!!! it's his pay not yours.. but if you get kicked out of your apartment, it's his ass and not yours! The First Shirt won't be too happy to hear about it!!
