Creative presentation ideas for history project.?
I am in 10th grade History. I have a group project about current genocide in the world. We need creative ideas for the presentation. If you don't know much about the topic, please respond with creative presentation ideas for any project in general. Also, the topic is very interesting and it is very scary to know that these problems exist today. Please look up www.thedevilcameonhorseback.com for further information. I'll choose a best answer. Please respond ASAP! There are 4 people in the group and we have to actually speak in front of the class, not just a powerpoint presentation or poster. We can, however, use a visual aid, props, etc. We also need to make overhead maps and pictures and present those during the presentation. Basically, something has to set the presentation apart from the other groups.

- At the beginning of the presentation, you could give the class a short quiz. Ask them to take out a piece of paper, number it from one to five and then give them five multiple-choice questions about genocide. (Some ideas: How many countries are engaged in genocide today? In Darfur, how many civilians have been displaced from their homes?) Then reveal the correct answers in your presentation. Depending on the length of your presentation, you might even be able to show one of the short films available on the site. If you have Internet access in your classroom, you might even build your entire presentation in Google Earth as outlined here: http://www.ushmm.org/maps/projects/darfur/ I think that would be pretty creative. Finally, since your topic is sure to stir people's emotions, you will want to answer the question, "What can I do?" You have the opportunity to motivate your classmates to take action. You could draft a letter to the editor(s) of your local paper(s), and as part of the presentation, pass it around to your classmates and ask them to endorse it. The letter could start, "Students at XXXX High School stand against genocide, and our elected officials should too."
