Home Business Ideas?

I want to start a home business that would take less than $200. I thought it might be fun to manufacture things from my own home. Keep in mind, I am only 12, so I need something that wouldn't require permits, etc.

  1. The best thing would be to surf the net and get information.
  2. I have 2 small businesses, both on the internet and I make the most money and sell the most of the items that I design and make myself. People are really into buying things for their pets, and you can get alot of free templates online for toys for pets that you could sew if you enjoy sewing. Since your a preteen, maybe you can think of things for a teens room that is unique. Good luck!
  3. Making candles, fudge(making taking orders over the Internet) on the Internet. How to look after your pet, what are your hobbies? Have fun with it.
  4. First of all don't be afraid of getting permits. You can make more money with a legal business because you can write off the costs of expenses that you would otherwise pay out of your own pocket. I'd suggest you do a little more reading about business because you (and your parents) can increase income and reduce taxes if you do things above board. You don't have to have a million dollar business to get the most from having a business. Your local library will have a number of books that can address the issue of being 12 and wanting a business. One example is "Fast Cash for Kids" by Bonnie & Noel Drew. Ask your Librarian for this and other titles. There's an organization called Junior Achievements that can further give advice to you on a local level and you'll be able to network with other entrepreneurs. You may want to see if you can "click" with them at the website below. Now, as for what to sell... you need to find or create a need. You can make and brand your own jewelry or book covers or even imprint pens or coffee mugs with a fun message or picture. Look around you for more ideas of what people buy. When you think about silly things like Hula Hoops and Pet Rocks, you will find that people will buy anything if you reach the right buttons of the consumers. And remember... get your parents on board with your goals!!!

  9. Even though you are only twelve, there is actually a lot of things that you can do to make money from home. Probably the best option would be to work online with websites because you can operate from home without anyone really knowing how old you are. With a budget of $200 you should be able to pick up a website at Digital Point forums or maybe even eBay that makes a small amount per month. I would recommend buying one in your price range and then working on building links and traffic to make even more money with it. Then you take the profits and buy another one. If you keep doing this you could be making serious money in a year or so as long as everything goes well. Buying an established website requires very little technical knowledge, because the site has already been built for you. Not to mention that the hardest part, which is getting a site in the green, is done as well. All you need to do is keep it there or work on making even more. You might want to check out the article I listed below, it has a lot of information about buying websites. The other link has over 100 ways to make money online, which will give you some more ideas. Good luck!
  10. You can do survey's but to make a lot of money, you'll have to do a lot of survey's online. You would need your parents permission. If you'd like some links to the survey's send me an email and I'd be happy to send them to you. I have my daughter doing survey's online. She loves it. The survey sites that I have her on are free to join. So hand onto that $200 and put it in a savings account and save it. don't waste it on survey's or online jobs or anything, because you'll waste your money. If you'd like some suggestions on the places I have my own daughter on, let me know.
