does anyone know anything about divorce and what the spouse receives in military retirement pay?
Spouse claims she will get all of the military retirement check for child support and alimony in the state of ohio. Anyone have any information?

- The spouse gets nothing, unless it can be liquified immediately. Future earnings have not happened, and therefore cannot be justifiably taxed or garnished. When you split in many states you get 50% of current assets only, but i do suggest that you file, because if your spouse files you will lose, and may have to engage a lawyer in whichever state they file in. With that said move out of state and file in the new state, it will really mess with your ex's head.
- LOL. Unless you did something VERY wrong then I doubt she'll get all of your money. when my parents divorced my mom had been married to my dad for 20 years of his military career. Their divorce was due to a proven, documented affair and my mom only recieves 60% of his retirement, which I think is the max amount. From what I remember if you weren't married for more than 20 years she isn't entitled to any of your retirement. As far as alimony/child support, I don't know. I just suggest finding a good attorney that is familiar with military divorces. Hopefully you didn't do anything to bad.
- yes she gets your retirement pay . Some not all. Only if you been married for more than 10 years.
- more than 10 years in military, she gets half retirement
