retirement oz

I contribute to a Thrift savings account (TSP) when I retire should I roll it over to an IRA or what?

I plan to retire in a few months, should I draw out my tsp and put it in a IRA or should I put it in a savings account where I can access it if I need it.

  1. Why not leave it in the TSP, until you need it. Unless you think you can get a better return, there is no advantage to moving it to an IRA. If you put it in a savings account you will have to pay taxes.
  2. The federal gov't TSP is one of the best vehicles out there. Leave it right there, they charge rock bottom expenses. I would love to have one!!
