Claiming a deduction for a dependant in a retirement home?
I wish to correctly claim the additional support money for a dependant in a retirement home. The money is the $3000 difference between the retiree's payment from OAS/pensions and the charges from the home which I have paid during the year. The retireee is not currently disabled.

- I don't believe that is claimable by you. You can only claim support for an eligible dependent who lives with you. Sucks, and it's not fair, but that is life.
