What are some game ideas for a lot of people (for a party?)?

I'm having a party for about 20-30 of my friends (aged around 16), and we all like to run around and just have fun. I know that we're going to be having it at my house (that's a must), but the problem is that, although I have a good amount of land, not much of it is landscaped. Only very close to the house is, and the rest of it is just flat grassy area (so manhunt is basically out). An indoor option would be alright, though, since it would be the very end of April, I'd like to take advantage of the nice weather. I would really like to shy away from anything really serious, as well. Possibly, a big game of some sorts would be ideal. Though, none of us are really into the same sport (some of us like hockey, while others play soccer, others baseball, and others still basketball). I have 3-4 weeks left to plan this. It's the second of two parties and I spent most of my time planning the more serious family one. Please help? I was actually looking for a really athletic game. Along the lines of ultimate frisbee or capture the flag?

  1. O.k. one fun game is to get a list of A-Star Hollywood names and then pin one on the back of each guest, they have to guess who they are by asking questions...yes I know corny but fun for all ages. Can't think of anymore know..
  2. Game 1 ( I don't know the name) You pair people off and then make a big circle with partners across from each other. Each set of partner's should have a number. (For example, there will be two 1s, two 2s, etc.) Put something like a shoe in the middle of the circle. Designate someone (not playing) to call out numbers. When you number is called you must race your partner to the middle to get the shoe. Once someone gets the shoe they have the race back to their place without getting tagged by the other person. Keep track of how many times people get caught and how many times they catch the other person. You could either have prizes or work some kind of elimination. Game 2 (The animal game) You need enough chairs for everyone and either a pool noodle or something similar (be sure it's kind of soft). One person starts in the middle with the noodle. Everyone else picks an animal name (ex. chicken, dog, bunny, cat), including the person in the middle. One person is chosen to start. They must stand, say their animal name and then someone else's animal name. (Ex. if they are a duck, they say "duck-bunny!") Then they sit down. Then the bunny has to stand and say their name and then someone else's, and it continues like that. In the meantime, the person with the noodle is trying to hit the standing person before they say both names. So if they get hit after they only say their name and don't get to say another animal name, then they are now in the middle with the noodle. This game sounds dumb, but it's so much fun! I mean, you get to beat up your friends with a pool noodle! Game 3 Ultimate frisbee You need two teams and a frisbee. Set up endzones. One team starts with a "kick off" meaning they throw the frisbee from their end as far as they can. The other team takes possession either where they catch it or where it lands. Once you have the frisbee you can only take 3 steps before you must throw it. Proceed in this fashion across the playing field, try to get into the endzone. If the other team intercepts the frisbee, or someone drops it, the other team gets possession. The last team to touch the frisbee before it hits the ground forfeits possession. Simply try to score as many touchdowns as possible in the alloted time. If you are going to have girls and guys playing, sometimes it's good to have a rule in place that every play must involve a girl, or that every other throw has to go to a girl or something, because sometimes guys can dominate this one. That's all I can think of for now. Let me know if you need clarification on anything.
  3. Game that are the most fun are not played during the day, but all of the game I'm going talk about need good weather and a dark night. Try flash light tag, the game is simple and can ever be played with teams, Just walk(or run) around with a flash light looking for people that are hiding or running a way from the searching beam of light, but you might have to make it absolutely clear that if you are seen you must consent to being caught. the next game is night paint ball but that involves lots of paint ball guns and flash lights.
  4. There is a game, that is called hot peas and butter. It can be played with a belt or with water guns and water baloons. In the dark, people can run around in the outter area and play this game. Just by hitting each other with the method of play. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ But concerning the age group, and the amount of people, you could, just break out some board games, and some Huge sport games that come on that night ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I suggest that you just have everyone come amongst themselves at the party, because ussually if you stress over this planning, it will ussually not come out as planned anyways. Just leave some water baloons outside and a couple of fun things people can be confortable with, and still be able to enjoy the physicality of the party - Tried to help >:( Micheal
