Anyone with creative ideas on how to advertise and market Permaculture?
Now here is a challenge for you. I am looking for creative ways of advertising and marketing Permaculture. How would you sell this to me? How would you measure the success of the campaign? Looking forward to your ideas. Vic have a look at these youtube clips http://www.permacultureactivist.net/Newsletter/Permanews.htm http://youtube.com/watch?v=mVJtpuOyCo0 http://youtube.com/watch?v=wai5nDz_OjY&mode=related&search= http://youtube.com/watch?v=l3_RbgtDnQE&mode=related&search= http://youtube.com/watch?v=3jD7rATl39Y http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZOaPFt_ajvU&mode=user&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye90FxJmuw0&mode=related&search= Look at Byderule's answer on What is Permaculture? that will quickly get you up to speed. Gazpacho - great answer; yeah we have been permies for 20 years. It really has some unjustified bad press. Some justified too. A lot of projects were ill thought out and executed in UK in the 80s. The emphasis was placed too heavily on agriculture, the Australian model used did not translate to UK and people talked about it but didn't act. It is definitely a small space and an urban solution too though.

- Setup a Review website and discuss Permaculture and it's competitors. Show why Permaculture is better than the others, but be as forthcoming as possible. Get a few testimonials if you can. Use pictures as an aid.
- People in the know have been selling Bill Mollison's permaculture for at least as far back as I can remember hearing about it at university c1980. It's problematic in cities because land sizes have increasingly diminished as population density increases... and the concept of "the commons" is for sharing and caring souls but our cities are replete with ass-holes... so as there will remain a "tragedy of the commons" today.. just as there was hundred of years ago on old England. Permaculture relies on symbiotic relationship with land... so what happens when their isn't any.. when it is all building? The suburban environment still exists, yes.. but it is rapidly diminishing in major cities as population density increases. Urban planning is the place to market permaculture.. we need to get the fundamentals into urban development controls and this will take considerable political lobbying from the community. Permaculture needs to re-define itself, I think... to increase solutions for high density urban living.. roof top and courtyard gardening... ... streetscape planning.... parkland and recreational area refurbishment.... In NSW, Australia we have energy consumption controls incorporated into development so the time is now.
- Unfortunately, I am not familiar with "Permaculture," and how does that product/description going to be promoted since my response is more web based and has to do with web site design and set up. Please provide more specific marketing avenues, i.e., internet, radio media, tv media, etc.
- yes support me and write to yahoo forum and again to Jane for Permaculture as a sub category under Environment . http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnnKH5d8qVye15l2ifhsip7ty6IX?qid=20070515153757AAYvD4I it will give us another window with a wide view Gaspacho we can build a garden on concrete I have made a large ornamental garden on uneven bed rock on a slope by importing soil and building up organics so soil is not the issue and neither is size we can intensively grow on a back patio PjG Permaculture has no competitors is it a collection of sustainable proven methods from all over the world over thousands of years . and incorporates agro forestal .organic and no till farming and is basically a Earth friendly philosiphy its only enemies being the enemies of the planet
