Creative ideas for a tattoo that incorporates your children?

My friend just had a baby girl and wants to get a tattoo for her but then be able to add onto it as she has more kids. She doesn't want their actual names written out she just wants something to represent each kid. She will probably get it on her lower back. Anyone have any creative ideas?

1. she can probably get a drawing of their foot prints or get like a flower blooming and have their initials underneath
2. My friend had her baby's footprint tattooed onto her shoulder. Its very cute. Other then that it's really hard to think of something for each kid if you don't have their names... then you can't tell anything apart.
3. have ur friend give a picture of her baby to the tatoo person and have him tatoo the picture where ever she wants it and that way more kids more pictures
4. Since it will go on her lower back, how about a "family vine" instead of a "family tree" ?? She could have the vine done and add hearts or maybe flowers with each child's initials. Kinda like adding charms on a bracelet i guess....another child is born, she adds on to the vine.
5. get their astrological signs printed in birth order
6. a garden scene with a new flower/plant or animal for every new member of the family. Or an ocean scene, or forest scene, or whatever floats your boat.
7. PLEASE for the love of god do not do the footprint. it is the most common tattoo on earth. please try something original. you really have to use your imagination here. ive been trying to think of one for 2 years now and i just havent decided. my suggestion, you can never go wrong with a neat floral design, with a flower respresenting each child on a vine. hope this helps.
8. Personally I LOVE the footprint idea because it is so "common." I mean parents wanting to get something tattood for the birth of a child is a pretty cool thing, and I personally love that it can be shared through the "same" tattoo with others. And honestly, what is original in the world of Tattoo anymore? Its all been done in one form or another. I have two fat purple birds with banners over their belly with my daughters name and birthdate in it..I could add more and make it a chain if I have more kids later on.
9. I would say to get some butterflies. They could look like they are flying up her back. And while they remind her of her baby, and the ones to come, it will look beautiful. Maybe a couple could be sitting a small flower here and there. :) good luck and congratulations to your friend!
