What is the best way to get peoples attention for a Yard Sale, any creative ideas out there?
I already plan on putting it in the community newspaper, the city newspapers and stapling large signs around the key intersections in the area...any other creative ideas? Thank you!!

- Free lemonade with a large sign in the yard - if its hot Scantly clad ladies walking on the sidewalk in front of your house may work.
- Post it on CraigsList.com. Post a number of the items you are selling. My wife and I bought a shower door that ended up being too big. So, we posted it on CraigsList and it was sold within an hour. Another thing you could do is make it a "street sale" where some of your neighbors have garage sales the same day as you. That just creates a critical mass and attracts more people. Lastly, put hellium balloons on your signs.
- Get a "block" yard sale. Start working on it this year for next year. See if you can get a pop corn, soda, hot dog, etc vendor to turn out. If you start this as an annual affair, same dates every year, people will go crazy for it.
- All I ever did was hang a gigantic white sign from the pole on the main street just before sunrise with a huge black arrow pointing to my house. People are so curious, and it was a really big sign. The cops figured it out after a few hours and asked me to remove the sign, but by that time, I was almost cleaned out.
