How do you know when it is time to retire from working?

Assuming you have enough money to meet your needs, will you know when it's time to retire? My brother says I will.

1. when you're not happy anymore. and i mean miserable not just "not feeling it." plus if yiou have the money get the hell outta there before they fire you and then you're screwed. no retirement ten anyway! quit on your terms not theres. you dont want to have to fight them in court if they give you the ole heave-ho. leave in 2 weeks if you can.
2. If you have enough savings and feel like quitting then do it. we did and we were only 50.
3. I knew when I cut down my office hours to four hours a day 4 days a week and I couldn't get to work on time and left early it was time for me to finish! I believe your brother is right! You will also know! Now that I am retired I am so busy I don't know how I ever found the time to go to work to begin with! LOL NO JOKE!
4. If you have enough money, then now is the time to retire. You can be on your own schedule and do the things you want to do. For all of those people who say "Oh, i love to work. I need to work. I don't know what I'd do without work." They are just full of it because they can't afford not to work. Congratulations! Enjoy your retirement and don't feel one bit guilty about it.
