How is military retierment pay calculated if you are going to retire for the Reserves?

I have 10 years of Active Service. How long will it take for me to get to retierment as a Drilling Reservist? Assuming that I retire as an E-7 or an E-8, how will my retierment pay be calculated?

  1. You get day for day service. Each year, you are authorized 48 MUTA's and two weeks of training. That will be added to your retirement points to calculate your retirement pay. Each year, you should have 62 days of active duty (approximately). Over the next ten years, you will have 620 days, almost two years. Basically, you'll retire with about 12 years of active duty. That's not a bad check. Regardless, you won't get any retirement pay until age 60, right now. There is a push to get it reduced to 55, however.
  2. If you stay in till 20 years a E-7 pay is a little over 1,400. I know this because my husband stay 21 years and we draw this from retirement pay at age 48. As the general says have fun and keep going
  3. there should be a payscale somewhere on ako i would think and reservists also are eligible for retirement at 20 years
