Jermaine Defoe has had a great career maybe he should retire?
maybe he should retire, unless he's already retired cuz i don't see much of him. Such a shame another waste of talent. I have no idea what he's doing at spurs when spurs have spent 16 million on another striker and berbatov bein influncial when playing with keane. At what chance does defoe have. HE does'nt. I have no idea who his agent is but he should leave and sign for a club that will allow him to play regularly. He's an idiot and so is his management staff. Idiot. omg fair point, but i honestly don't think think he fits into the team very well considering players like berbatov fit in perfectly well and keane as well and bent too. I feel defoe has had opportunities but becuz of inconsistent outings he's not been able to get into a rhythm. And i think spurs fan's would agree with this and don't really see him as a first team option for the big games and so does martin jol, he just putting defoe in just to make it fair on him because he's talented. BUt in jols eyes he does'nt fit in his ideal 11

- agree with you totally......
- Personally,I admire any athlete who fights for his place and doesn't just give up. (Imbecile).
- You're an Idiot! Jermain (without an E) is there to fight for his place like any good footballer should. No-one in a team should be guaranteed a starting position as the player may become complacent and not perform to the best of his ability. What people do not realise is that Jermain actually started more games last season than Keane as he played most of the start of the season, however at this moment in time Keane and Berbatov are in form and Darren Bent is struggling for fitness due to a minor injury. Jermain will play when the time is right. To say that he should retire is completely ludicrous as he is so young and has a lot more to give and i do not doubt that he will once again fight for his starting place against Keane. Its not about allowing him to play regularly a professional footballer is part of a team not a one man band he has to earn his place.
- im a spurs fan and i dont agree, when a player fights for his place it makes him alot more aggresive when hes playing, jol subs his strikers every game and unfortunatley sum of the bigger clubs mite snatch him up
- Defoe a great player theirs no way he should quit.. I just think in the end he choose the wrong club to stay with. If he had joined Man U or Chelsea they would have let him play first team football every week. And not be on the bench. As they need strikers... Spurs have got to many brilliant strikers and Defoe has a lot of work to do.. He a guy that can save a team from losing by scoring, but deserves regular chances.. I'd love to see him up front with Heskey..
