retirement oz

Do people who think McCain is too old also think Murtha is too old and should retire?

I'm sure most people do not know who Murtha is. He is the guy that likes to call our troops names and make accusations about them, and has yet to apologize for his actions... and he's older than McCain

  1. McCain is too old to be president........so is Murtha. But he's not running for president.
  2. Yes he should. No more career politicians - term limits for all. And let them pay their own insurance and save for retirement in a 401(k).
  3. Yes, way to old. They both wont be able to hear the phone ringing at 3 am.
  4. Murtha is the guy that takes every opportunity to blather about his district's 'dilapidated bridges' while he holds the Congressional record for pork receptions. John is not too old to be thrown in prison
  5. Murtha should be in jail.
  6. Yes.....If I had my way....people would be allowed to serve two terms in congress and that's it...move on....get a real job......This entire congress needs to be purged....both houses.....both parties. I also think that if you've worked previously for an administration.....you should never be allowed to work for another....we've had the same people running Washington since Nixon....It's time to hit the reset button on Washington.
  7. Talk about age discrimination! By the way, the individual states voted to implement term limits on Congressmen and women (US Term Limits, Inc v. Thornton) but the liberals on the court struck it down 5 to 4. Why? Liberals hate change.
  8. I think we expect people to fall asleep in Congress or the Senate. Murtha is not even the oldest by a long-shot - look at Robert Byrd. He's 90 years old! But I agree with the above, I think we expect a President to work harder and be more alert than a congressperson. So there are legitimate questions - not about McCain's work ethic (he strikes me as a harder worker than Bush, though that's not saying much) but about whether he is capable of enduring the large workload and stresses that go with being president. Everyone has noticed that presidents seem to age at a faster rate than normal people because of all the stresses of the job. I personally don't think 71 is too old, but there has to be an age limit - I don't think anyone would want a 90 year president.
  9. murtha is not trying to become president, and if he was i would say he was also way too old.
  10. i do not say he is unfit just because of age but I question his health. Remember he has just survived cancer. also his forgetting his position on abortion and gay marriage makes me wonder about his mental condition. He spent over five years in the custody of the North Vietnamese. He shows signs of PTSD.which is understandable considering what he has been through. But he did make propaganda videos condemning America. I am not saying that I might not have done the same because I was never put in that position. What I am saying is that someone who would be president should be made of sterner stuff.
