retirement oz

Need to find someone who can look at retirement funds and tell me what I can live on when I retire?

My folks are planning on to retire in the next 5-10 years (before they are elgible for social), I am looking for someone to be able to sit down with them and tell them what they can get out of their 401K, pensions and etc... before social. Who do I look for? How do I know they are good at their jobs? Thanks

  1. I’m one of the writers for Gilbert Guide (the foremost resource for everything senior care.) We recently added a financial planner to our blog whose written a couple of informative articles. Although it sounds like your parents are not yet seniors, this information may be very useful to them. Here is an excerpt from her recent posting: “Listening to your needs—Financial planners can assist you in understanding and evaluating your decisions, which will help you avoid confusion, frustration, major errors and family dissension. Financial decisions are more than about just money—I know from experience how difficult it is for everyone involved. Making major financial decisions can be even more daunting when you don’t have the detailed knowledge, experience, time or ability to handle them. What are the potential impacts and benefits of making one decision over another? What are the requirements to execute such decisions?” Suzanne Wolfson, who writes this blog, is the founder of For Retired Only™, a fee-based financial planning firm that specializes in the finding the best financial direction and solutions for the pre-retiree and those already in retirement.
