What is the current living trend in USA?do ppl retire as early as possible?

1. Trends are hard things to understand. Some people indeed do but others do not. Many people who could retire earlier do not because of the insecurity of not having a job and the uncertainty of what the future might hold. Also many have known no other way of living for most of their lives and have no desire to change until forced to do so. Others who have other things they wish to do with their lives besides draw a pay check every two weeks, can not wait to get out of the rat race once they have built up sufficent funds to make life a little more interesting. Off hand I would say that the trend might be to work as long as possible.
2. It is always a dream to retire early and to retire rich. I believe with the opportunities that are available now compare to 20yrs or 50yrs ago are totally different. We evolve. The technology we have now has expedited our wealth creation. The way we do business are different. The way we trade as a Trader are also different. The list goes on..... We are able to get education and be educated in a much easier and simpler way now. Like how you are able to access to information in a matter of seconds. With this wonderful technology supremacy in our era, I think the process of early retirement has been effectively activated. We are used to ploughing the land using manual work but now huge huge machinery has overtaken the job and produce thousands of times the productivity compare to 70yrs ago. With these efficiency, I think we will retire earlier if we work intelligently.
