retirement oz

Where is the best location to retire that has great outdoor activities?

  1. The countryside
  2. You don't say which Country. If you can get in, New Zealand is big on outdoor activities.
  3. Colorado is very nice. During the summer, you have the Mountains to hike up and down. During the winter, you can ski, snowboard, and do all the fun stuff you do in the snow. Florida is also nice but I wouldn't retire there. Mainly because of the hurricanes. If you don't mind the hurricanes, then come on down. It looks like all the rest of the retired community lives down here. If you mean outside the US, I would probably go to some exotic island in the Pacific. I went to Hawaii and saw the Polynesian Island things and they looked very cool and exciting. Maybe Tonga or Samoa.
  4. I live on the southern oregon coast, and honestly, it has every activity you could think of within 3 to 4 hrs. of here. Here in town and within 30 miles there's The Beach, hiking trails, horseback trails, camping, hunting, fishing, boating, watersports of all kinds. As for indoor stuff when it rains- you ask yourself?? A casino that has tons of activities for all ages, concerts and comedy a few times a yr.. Lots of great resturants too. Then, within a few hrs. we have shopping, (eugene, OR) concerts, and plays. Lots of markets and produce here and in Coos Bay/North Bend- the place I'm living! Oh' crabbing is great too!! If you want more info contact me...retirement is big here...you would LOVE it! Good Luck =)
