retirement oz

where would the best place be to retire to in oregon?

We want warm weather most of the time and very little snow. Also not a place that rains all the time. We need to be able to travel to Bend oregon also quite a bit for family. I think Bend would be too cold in the winter possibly. Ashland seemed very nice online but very expensive for housing.

  1. In any other state, OK? We have enough retirees here as it is. Thanks.
  2. You asked this question earlier and I provided a lot of links. Maybe a visit to each community would help you make a decision. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoLc3YINJxjLGHdXb34aptLty6IX?qid=20070610131525AAL8OLT&show=7#profile-info-vSXGvrPPaa Anyway, I don't mind helping again. You want to live in Jackson County for the warmest weather year-round and the least amount of snow (in the valleys). Ashland is the most expensive city but Medford is the largest, with the most services for retirees. http://www.visitmedford.org/retirement.htm At 1,382 feet above sea level, Medford is protected by surrounding mountains, and the area is favored with a mild climate. Annual average rainfall is 18-20 inches, about the same as San Francisco. The median winter temperature is 36 degrees. Summers are warm with a median temperature of 94 degrees and an average of 15 days over 100 degrees. Humidity is low. Medford is 212 miles from Bend, about a four-hour drive as you are going over the mountains. http://www.tripcheck.com/Pages/MCentry.asp If you want to trade more rain for living closer to Bend, consider Eugene/Springfield in Lane County (128 miles from Bend and just over a two-hour drive).
