What is an effective way to save money for a vacation?

I want to go to South Texas in late June next year, but money is an issue. How could save money for it from now until April (when I book it)?

2. put away 50 dollars a week in a savings account. Do not look at it or take it out for any reason. You will have the money you need. Or close to it. Good Luck!
3. An effective way to save money for a vacation is do the following: 1. Find out what your Discretionary income is. Discretionary income is income after subtracting taxes and necessities (food, mortgage, rent, car payments, insurance, etc). 2. After finding out you Discretionary income, save 20% of that every paycheck. You will be suprised how much you'll have after 6 months.
