and what style of life do you have? What do you spend money on mainly?

  1. about 100$ bones after car inssurance, rent, gas, food, beer, and my gf take their cuts lol
  2. Save money while Labours in Power...........? Dont think so, not while being shagged up the Ar$e at every turn by them.
  3. Nothing, I can't afford to save we are always overdrawn due to Bills, Bills and the cost of living fiasco. My style of living is a very cautious one. Food and bills.
  4. You are asking too much info - but you have the right idea... It is not how much you MAKE that counts --- It is how much you KEEP . :)
  5. Over the last month, I put aside about 1000 quid after bills, etc. Mind you, it was an exceptional month, and I do have to be more fiscally cautious due to a new daughter. Normally, probably about a quarter of that, I suppose. EDIT: probably doesn't count, actually, as a good slab of it was money I was owed from previous work.
  6. $5000 easily. I will be able to save much more when the stock market rises. I spend most of my money on food and gasoline. I have a modest lifestyle but I do like going out to nice dinners.
  7. We save about a tenth of our income monthly. Most of our money goes to our mortgage which we plan to pay off in less than 15 years. Secondly, it goes to tuition (private schooling). Thirdly, it goes to Wal-Mart (not just groceries). After that it goes to gas and dining out. Lifestyle: married couple with one child and one on the way, newly built home but within our budget, two vehicles that are completely paid for and not posh by any means, able to vacation a couple of times a year (moderately), healthy as in we do not smoke or drink and investing a greater amount of our savings to build wealth.
  8. I have wife and four gimme gimme children so I get to save nothing
  9. i am able to save about 1300 a month...with two incomes of course: mortgage and car loan payments...we hardly dine out or buy lunch...we make instead or buy those frozen foods. then the rest goes to hiydro, phone, gas etc.
  10. I manage to save more than half my salary and that's because I live in the staff accommodation where i work, not paying for rent or food, not going out, not really having a life :) Almost everything goes on paying back a personal loan I took to buy some land. Hopefully I'll be able to continue like this for another year and then i'll be debt free.
  11. My wife puts in about $600/mo in her 401k. I put in about $550/mo in my 457. I have a pension plan I contribute to also. We both have Roth IRAs. Then we put about $1,000/mo into a general savings. We live well below our means. We just don't go out and buy crap and when we need clothes we save for them. We make a menu for our shopping for the coming two weeks. When we know exactly what we're eating we're less tempted to eat out.
