What do you say to a co-worker that is not ready to retire?
There is an elderly woman who is the office manager that has recently had a stroke, but of good mind. She has been with the company for years and has helped make the company grow bigger and stronger than ever. But now comes the time when the workload is to become lighter and her position has been replaced. She is NOT ready to retire and feels that she is being pushed out because she has had the stroke and is getting older. She now comes to work very distraught and heavy burdened and she cries silently. Although being told she has been a great asset to the company and has been put on a pedastal. She still feels as if she is being pushed out the door. WHAT CAN WE DO TO LIFT HER SPIRITS?

- Maybe honor her with an award for all her achievements and all she has done. Maybe give her a gift that will spur her into a new hobby. Make sure she knows how much she is appreciated and that this time comes for everyone.
- I had a similar experience with her. Actually I do now. I don't want to compete with someone any more. I am sick of it. I work because I want to be happy. If I were you, I would give her a present, the book - "Present", which worked for me. I should have read the book again. Thank you for your question. Owe to you, I revealed how I can over this feeling. She must be very good person and I envy her, because she has you who concerns her deeply.
