- If i knew the answer to that, i wouldn't be here.
- Where do you live... most big metro areas have tons of free stuff to do. 1) check out libraries. In my city they have music cds and dvds you can check out free. They also have 1 or 2 family passesmuseum passes for about a dozen different places. Typically, the early bird gets the worm, because some of these would cost 40 or 50 bucks for a family of 4. You can also use them alone or with a couple of friends. 2 - look into getting different friends. You dont have to dump your current friends. But, a real friend will understand if you are broke or trying to spend money more wisely and cannot go out to the bar. 3 - if your dating, chics love active stuff. Picnics, kite flying, tennis, catch, frisbee, walks, bikerides, cricket.... Girls love it. Instead of dinner and a movie, dust off your tennis rackets, pack a picnic and pick up a six back at the liquor store. Sitting in wierd restaurants stairing at each other comes with a high strike out ratio. Get a girl out and about, almost sweating, while you show off your skills at some stupid thing you learned at age 12 - popping a wheelie, flying a kite, spinning a frisbee on your finger - will give you a good chance to make physical contact. 4 - pick up a hobby. Was there something you were really good at when you were young? I still play baseball and softball several nights a week. It is expensive up front - league fees and uniforms - but after that it is basically free, except for bringing a case of booz once a month or so. And, you dont have to go out to the bar with teammates afterwards. Go to someone's house watch comedy central and cook a frozen pizza or boil some hot dogs. Seems like the best times I have with my teammates are just chillin at the field after the game watchign the other teams finish their games. I know it is tough. I was over ten grand in credit card debt in summer of 2006. Then, I woke up. I was blowing money at bars and clubs buying drinks for a cute chic and her 8 friends; buying new video game crap every week; and eating out at applebees and nicer places three or four times a week. Then I noticed, I was a 25 year old single dad (daughter lives with her mom) who graduated college with two degrees and I was STILL BROKE. WHY? Trying to use money to n-joi life. The best things are typically free or cheap. Are most of your best memories with your buddies the nights you spent the most money? Or, the times you were screwing at someone's house or yard and somebody said something stupid, or did something ill. I know for me, my best memories with my friends, and my daughter, usually didn't involve spending money. Good luck
