retirement oz

I am moving to Mexico to be with my daughters who live and work in San Jose Del Cabo. How do I get the propers?

I will be retired and have an income through pensions and investments. I have a new car and intend to pull a trailer with a few personal items from Ontario to Mexico. I know my wife and I need a clean record, the dog has all his shots and vet papers. All personal items must be labelled in Spanish and English.Do I need an FM2 or just a visitors visa. We plan on residing in Mexico on a permanent basis and even purchased a house in Los Lomas.I will apply for Mexican automobile insurance and will have medical coverage through my daughters policy as a dependant.

  1. go to the mexican consulate is on 4th in sarbernardino off the 15 north they would tell you what to do http://www.embassyofmexico.org/eng/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=166&Itemid=60
  2. Check out the website immigrate2us.net, There are quite a few mexican nationals, immigrating to the us of course, that are on that forum but they are from Mexico and I am sure they can help...Good luck and I hope Mexico is as beautiful for you as it is for me.
  3. It depends on the activities you'll want to do within Mexico. If you just want to live here as a retiree a tourist visa will be ok. But if you need to do some work or other activities you shall need the FM2. Visit the Mexican Immigration Institute to further information: http://www.inami.gob.mx/pagina_ingles/931000.htm
