Why do they give you a watch when you retire ?
When its the first time in your life you really don't care what time it is?

- So you can sit and watch the time slowly drag by until your time comes to purchase the old farm.
- to make you remember that you dont have much time left in your life
- Lol i have often wondered this too, im sure there is a story behind the whole thing somewhere. :-)
- It represents the time you spent with them and it's something practical and inexpensive.
- Cause your times almost up!
- HA-HA right on! Excellent question!!
- So, you can look at your watch and say "look..this is where all my hard earned years went" They could at least give you a digital camera..geez.
- Because you were always looking at the clock when you were working.
- Cute. :-) But I think it's because it's a nice, expensive gift that's sort of neutral and inoffensive--most people wear watches, and even people who don't won't get offended.
- Because you will have alot of "time" on your hands.
- Ha Ha............. Not something I can really provide a reasonable answer for, but that sure does make me chuckle. I can't wait for the day it is my turn.
- Maybe it's a way of saying "You have been a good timekeeper all your working life, now you can have a good timekeeper." Incidentally, I got a beer mug and a bottle of whisky. What does that tell me, I wonder?
- They do ? haha
- so you have an idea what time you about to die LOL..
- To symbolize the time you spent working for the company and so that You don't feel like you have just spent the last 25 years working only to receive no appreciation for the Time that you did put in.
