i would like to get my own retirement fund going does anybody have good ideas?
My company offers 401k but in my kind of work, i move around often due to more money..... So when i change company names i have to wait out on 6 months to a year before 401k, so is there something better out there to where i can always put money in???

- I.R.A. accounts.
- Yes. There are many investment houses out there. Try a no load mutual fund. Today there many retirement funds that automatically shift risk as you get older. One might be called, for example, the 2020 fund, for those that are retiring in 2020. These seem to be a pretty good idea.
- Set up any account such as an IRA, ROTH or 401K at a discount brokerage... and as you leave these jobs, have them roll the 401K $$ into that account as the time comes. Otherwise you can do it yourself with a ROTH or Traditional IRA...
