saving money and budgeting for teen?
ok so im 14, but the problem is that i where i live, you cant get any jobs pretty much until youre 15-16 im saving up for someting that costs $335. at the moment i get $200 p/month put on my eftpos card from my parents for pretty much everything i do/buy. does any one have any tips for saving my money? i want to get the thing pretty soon and its easy enough for me to say that ill save half my money every month, but that never happens! i just cant control myself and i always end up spending it... i know thats stupid and its my fault so dont tell me that! pleaseee, just annny ideas or a plan or ANYTHING that can help me is reaaaaaaaaally appreciated ! thanks

- stop going shopping...seriously if you dont tempt yourself you wont spend it...my son works and does not spend any money...normally ...he holds it he wants an xbox 360...the most he has spent was at mcdonalds for his gf and him lunch and he bought us a cheesecake last night and cereal..lol but the rest is savings for the thing he wants most....you must not want it bad enough if you wont save it..when i was a kid we had to save 30 bucks for a new bike...my parents would pay the rest..my brother had his a year before i did..i couldnt save it...until i realized i really wanted it....and then i had my bike
- If you know you're going to spend it either way, try rounding up the amount of each thing you buy to the nearest $5.00 or $10.00. Forget about the extra amount and tell yourself it isn't there - that you've spent it already. Example: You start the month with $200. You buy some clothes for $22.00 (round up to $25), fuel for $41 (round up to $50), lunches for $82 (round up to $90) and miscellaneous spending $30 (round up to $35). At the end of the month, you'll have an extra $25.00 on your card. The more you round up, the more you'll save. You can have enough in a couple of months if you do it right. Also, try getting a paper route for a month or doing odd jobs like yard work to make extra money.
