Are you really surprised that Brett Favre wants to return after retiring?
It doesn't me. I had a feeling all along that he didn't really want to quit. What do you make of him wanting to be released by the Packers, so he can play for someone else? I personally don't like for favorite players, to go to other teams. It just isn't the same.

- Tostado is sick of the favre questions......... he should just cut the cheese in green bay and leave.
- Brett Favre couldn't stand not being a god anymore. I think if he plays in Chicago or some other place for a year where quarterbacks aren't gods, he'll retire again and stay retired for good.
- I'm not surprised at all the Favre wants to come back. He is a real football player. The kind that plays like he's playing backyard football with his friends he doesnt want it to end or let it go. He has more passion for the game than anyone. I would love to see him come back.
- It's not gonna be the same watching Favre in another uniform rather than yellow and green. But I'm not shocked at all.
- yep
- I think it's safe to say a majority of NFL fans saw this coming. Favre is considered by many to be one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game. I can't imagine how much pressure was put on his shoulders - pressure asserted by friends, family, Packer fans, etc - to reconsider coming back and giving it "just one more year". When you've had the career Brett Favre has, passing numerous records set by names like Dan Marino and John Elway - I know I'd want to come back if I could still walk on my own two feet.
- im totally suprised. i feel once you go into retirement that shoud be it. though as a bears fan, im thinking even an old bret favre would look great in blue and orange!
- No, figured it was bound to happen sooner or later. It just happened sooner than I anticipated.
- Not really. The guy seems to need the public spotlight and adulation in order to breathe. I guess the guy is entitled to play as long as he can but the post-season soap opera year after year after year is getting tiring.
- not at all suprised I would love it he got released and played for the Texans
- No of course I am not surprised he wants to return . He is coming off his best year ever in stats and in longevity . He is a very competitive person and so I almost totally expected him to do so . the second part of your question is just a little bit wrong . Brette Favre is not asking to be released so he can play with someone else , rather the truth of the matter is he wants to be released to go to a team where he can start, not be a backup . The Packers have already told him that he can certainly come back , but only in the role of backup QB . He deserves more . The young QB that is going to be the starter with GB is good . but does not have the playing of Brett Farve , in fact he is not even ready to shine Favre's shoes . He has to pay his dues first and that is where Favre shines, he not only has paid his dues , but he has paid those dues back with dividends.
- No, I'm not sure how Favre ever makes a decision. He's really put the Packers management over a barrell. They gave him the opportunity to say yes to returning in March and he said no then. If I was the Packers, I'd just trade him and get some draft picks or a younger, improving player.
- No. He's been doing this for 3 or 4 years now. This act is getting old. After he retired this year, he call the Packers a few weeks later to say he changed his mind & wanted to return. They set up a meeting to visit him & 2 days before the meeting, he called & said I'm retired, never mind. The Packers organization are just tired of the back-and-forth. Favre's request to be released is just like the Packers saying the Favre will be a backup. It's a power struggle.
