Cake ideas for a summer fete?
My work place is having a summer fete this weekend and i have offred to bake a novelty cake. What could I do?

- make a round cake and a rectangular one, cut the rectangular one into strips and create a sunshape, cover with yellow icing and a nice face and there you have a sunface
- Here is a cake I make: Make 2 plain sponge cakes with chocolate chips in, then put banana cream sandwiched in between them. Cover the whole cake in chocolate and put yellow and pink marshmallows on top. Yum yum! (my banana cream is made with whipped cream, yellow food colouring, mashed banana and 1 drop of banana essense)

- You could make a sponge with a topping of banana and those chocolate covered cream cakes that sit on a waffle with the very light white filling. Just take the waffles off, mix the mass with the bananas (just with a spoon, so you still have the pieces), put it on the sponge and decorate it with banana slices and the waffles. Have fun. What???? What do I get the thumbs down for??? For a cake recipe? Tssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.
- You can make a simple jelly roll and fill it with fresh whipped cream and sliced strawberries, or raspberries .......Or ... You can buy a Nordicware bundt pan, which come in all sorts of fun shapes. I have rose and chrysanthemum pans, and there's also a 9x13" pan with daisy imprints on the top. You can find them at Williams Sonoma or wherever they sell good quality kitchenwear (or on eBay). You'll get alot of use out of them! ......OR.... You can make cupcakes and put a thin layer of icing on top; put an oreo cookie on top of each. Pipe yellow petals around that (green leaves too, if you want). with a dap of frosting, stick a red M&M on each and pipe black dots and a line on that to resemble a ladybug.....
