Does social security retirement benefits count as child support?

My 10 year old son gets social security benefits from his father (who is 67). I am going to get a divorce from him. Does that count as child support, or will he have to pay out of his pocket? He is still working as of now. (BTW, I am a female... ignore my avatar)

  1. Yes, social security benefits for a dependent are usually considered as part or all of the child support payment. Of course it depends on the judicial ruling in this particular instance but in my own case I received benefits from my fathers disability after the divorce and that was part of his child support payment.
