1. It depends on alot of factors: -Is your house paid off? -Do you plan to travel or vacation? If so how often? -What is your present life style and do you plan to maintain it? -Medical cost and expectations of costs? -Do you want to leave an inheritance? A financial adviser is the way to go as they will ask these pertinent questions and steer you into a financial model to meet your expectations in retirement.
2. Well i guess it depends on how many bills you have, how many people n your household. But you should aim to live comfortably with no bills other then utility and food etc at least £1000 a month, o your looking at at least £240,000 for 20 years. People live on less though.
