Baking a cake ideas two layers ?

I am doing a cake with 2 8in pans and It needs to be chocolote. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas to change it up a little. Something to put on top or in between the cakes. I dont know ...i just dont want it to be boring.

1. Try some strawberry preserves. kinda gives it that Chocolate dipped strawberry flavor.
2. Raspberry is good with chocolate or you can try mashing some oreo cookies into white frosting to make a cookies and cream filling.
3. Whipped cream and fresh raspberries in the middle and just a dusting of icing sugar on the top with another couple of raspberries on the top. Strawberries work too, but the sharpness of the raspberries is great with the sweet chocolate.
