Where is the best place to retire in Asia or South America?

I am looking to retire within the next 5 years and have looked in to Thailand and Philippines (Cebu, Bohol, Davao (Concern though)

2. Malaysia is a great place for that. After all,you know what they say, "Malaysia Truly Asia".
3. If you are considering South America, consider Buenos Aires Argentina. It is the Europe of South America. The people are kind and friendly, the food is great and you can get real estate at a great price!

8. Philippines. Specifically to Bacolod or Iloilo City. Best value for your $ and friendly english speaking people.
9. I am pre-planning my retirement too, 25 years from now. Too young to retire though. When I retire, I wish to live in the Philippines. I have looked around the Metropolis area and am satisfied with either Tagaytay or Subic. English Language is widely spoken in the Philippines and that gives them an advantage over anywhere in Asia or South America. I go to South America or anywhere else in Asia for leisure but I can't speak Spanish or any other foreign language. I just can't imagine myself living in a foreign country where even the Language is foreign to me. That just doesn't make sense at all.
