are they going to save money by banning refuiling?
what diffrence does it make unless they make the races shorter but still they wont save that much money and it will be stupid

- I think it will stop Ferrari and Massa cocking up and ripping apart more fuel hoses and tanks I suppose transporting two fuel rigs, and all the time testing and acting fuel refilling may save teams lots of money
- Well it wouldn't save that much, surely there would have to still refuel cars after warm ups, qualifying and pre race, only the amount of fuel used would be saved. F1 has been run in the past without mid race refuels but I can't see this being particularly cost effective, cars would need pricey re designs for bigger tanks and handling/ aero changes to cope with more weight. More fiddling to motor sport, Subaru is pulling out of World rally to, next year is going to be a bit stale racing wise if you ask me. Mr Ecclestone,2 tips for cutting costs. . Drivers wages, Kimi on £25m, why? . Cut race calender back to 16, surely this will keep F1 more like the sport it is and reduce costs more than you may think.
- In the short term it will add expense because Ferrari will have to put a larger fuel tank into their car. However, this is pretty well long overdue. The fuel rigs are notoriously difficult to handle and it is a real safety hazard having that sticky fuel hose, hot brakes and exhaust systems, and a driver desperate to get back "out there". The fact no one has been killed in recent years is almost a miracle. I can't see why the races should be shorter, after all, if the engineers could design engines to last 2 races then it shouldn't be too hard for them to design a fuel tank to last 3 hours of racing.
- I can't imagine it would, unless they made the races shorter. Assuming the races stayed the same length, then they would probably use just the same amount of fuel to complete the race. Difference would be that they would have to make bigger fuel tanks. This would probably have a knock on effect of making it necessary to design the cars differently to make up for this and to accomodate the bigger tanks. I don't think it would save much, and possibly may cost a bit more, certainly short term, to do any alterations, tests etc.
- We used to have racing without refuelling, I'd like to see it back.
- They should not ban refueling. They wwould either have to make races much shorter or fuel tanks much larger. Shorter races is not good for obvious reasons, and larger fuel tanks slow the cars down and make the design much more difficult. They just need to redesign the refueling system. Obviously other series have systems that work so why can't F1 figure it out?
- Given F1 is so bleeding boring nowadays that that the pit-stop is now considered "exciting", I doubt it.
- 1993 was the last time that there was no re-fuelling during the race i remember, they only pitted for new tyres.
- In my opinion these rules are all nonsense, and pure proof of Mosley stupidity and incompetence. The introduction of the V8 engine did not lower the costs, it raised them. The introduction of this KERS made the teams spend tons of money to develop it, and now he thinks that banning refueling will lower the costs ? What a moron.... Seems to me that we are seeing the final days of this great sport. All these rules seem so forced to me with no real logic behind them. F1 will always be swimming in money no matter how " hard " the FIA tries to "reduce" costs. I mean you can all see what they did to the sport in the last 5 years with their attempt to make it more "entertaining" for us.. right ? And to think that bernie wants to introduce that medallion system... my god, greed can really do bad things to the human mind.. Here is the best example.
