I would like to take funds out of my retirement savings?

I work for the state of Arizona and there is a mandatory 9% contribution to the Arizona State Retirement System. My husband has become unemployed and we are hurting for money. I called the retirement system and they told me I cannot get my funds. Is there a way of getting my money to help us through a hardship?

1. Not sure how things work in your country, but here if you are over 55 and no longer working you can access part of your Superannuation that is not preserved.I do not know if this is any help to you but Good Luck.
