Do you think John McCain should shut up now that he lost?
Now he's out saying the economic stimulus is a bad plan. Doesn't he know he lost and no one want to hear from him? Republicans will try to block anything Obama does. I think McCain is a tired old man and should retire. I realize he has a right to speak out but do you think he is doing it for the best interests of the country..I do not!

- Yes, he is only playing politics with our future. He is out of touch and isn't out for the best interests of the people and I doubt he ever was. He may be a war hero but in my eyes is a sore loser and out to block anything Obama does. I hope he dies of old age soon!
- It is -- read it fooio -- there's at least 100 million dollars in pork in the first 12 pages --- the bill is 243 pages long...: http://appropriations.house.gov/pdf/RecoveryBill01-15-09.pdf Let us Democrats pass a bill that encourages growth -- encourages employment -- and encourages a turn-around in our current economic direction. We'll do that by passing a 1 trillion dollar stimulus and pump it into the economy....except for the few side appropriations that follow.... Stimulus Bill Pork: ‘‘Department of Housing and Urban Development—Management and Administration—Office 8 of Inspector General’’, $15,000,000. Why are we giving 15,000,000 to an entity that sparked this financial crisis? I'm confused. Oh, I see -- we're going to continue to give loans to people who can't afford houses -- specifically for PUBLIC and INDIAN housing. General Services Administration—Gen23 eral Activities—Office of Inspector General’’, 24 $15,000,000. Why are we giving pay raises? Social Security Administration—Office of 8 Inspector General’’, $2,000,000. What's the purpose of giving SSA money -- how does that encourage growth? There is hereby appropriated as an additional amount 14 for ‘‘Government Accountability Office—Salaries and Ex15 penses’’ $25,000,000, for oversight activities relating to 16 this Act. Another raise? How convenient not to combine the two?? "Environmental Protection Agency—State & and Tribal Assistance Grants’’. EPA Tribal assistance? Can you clarify please?? Department of Health and Human Serv2 ices—Office of the Secretary—Office of Inspector 3 General’’, $19,000,000. Contraceptives? Abortions? Hmm....not exactly an economic "stimulator". Do I have to mention the 300 billion set aside for tax-breaks. It makes no sense to give money to people to spend when consumers have their brakes on -- pocketing/saving every dollar they can to help brave the storm. I'm only on page 12 of 243 of the stimulus bill and have already identified approximately 300,100,000,000 dollars in pork. That could be used to "build" something and supply a few jobs -- don't you think? Check yourself before you wreck yourself: http://appropriations.house.gov/pdf/Reco...
- Ssshh, he has suspended his campaign to make this important statement.
- Did Al Gore, or has Al Gore? Nope nope and nope.
- He is a US Senator. And, even if he were not, he has the right to speak out. Apparently the press thinks what he says is important enough to put on the news.
- because President Obama's Stimulus plans do suck. all it is is spend spend, spend.
- No. Why should any American 'shut up'. He may not have answers or solutions you agree with, but he has just as much right as you do to state his opinions.
- He's right. And let's look at why Barack Hussein Obama won: because he was able to brainwash people who know nothing about politics, because his grandmother died the day before the election (earning him a few sympathy votes), and because he's black and everyone wanted to "make history" John Sidney McCain is still a prominent senator, and a great one at that. Therefore you have no right to try to take his freedom of speech away. Rather you should listen to his words of wisdom, you might actually learn something. And why would you think it wouldn't be in the best interests of the country? Tax-and-spend is NOT the way to go.
- No one is worse than Palin. She has yet to shut up and has no idea what she is saying. Like thats a surprise.
- Don't you have a clue that McCain is still one of the top Senators in the country and is highly respected, and has the right to speak out about something he doesn't think will work.
- Not at all. He is a senator and should vote for his morals and what is right just like he always done in the past. Some one has to stand up and be counted.
- Umm... He's still a Senator and has a job to do... The ignorance of some people amazes me.
- No he shouldn't. He has an obligation to speak up on those things he disagrees with. I hope you're not calling me a nobody, because I DO want to hear from him. Opposition means to oppose. Should the Republicans bring milk and cookies?
- How about Obama reaching across the aisle like he said he would.
- He's a U.S. Senator. I am very interested in knowing how these people feel about things.
- He has to represent his people in AZ. And it IS a bad plan. However, he is just pretending to be a conservative in hopes of staying in the Senate. I'm hoping Arizona will find a true conservative by the next election. After all, that is the state Goldwater came from. That bill is chock full of things voted down and unacceptable politically, though. It is as if they decided 'stimulus' means spending on whatever they always wanted but couldn't previously justify. It makes it clearer than ever that only special interests, not the citizens, are being catered to in DC. Read the bill.
- He still works for the government. Shouldn't all Senators voice their opinions. BTW: Obama plan isn't bad, but HORRIBLE!
- You're all for silencing the opposition. You are in heated agreement with your party then.
- Well... I'm thinking that Blago should do the same thing eh .. Yupper.. freedom of speech... gotta love it eh !!
