- Um...if you can bake or cook things, you could offer a service to your friends...or if you live in a dormitory building. Charge a fee for making certain baked goods or even cooking small individual dishes. Just be sure to charge more than the ingredients cost. But not too much, remember that you could be selling to fellow college students who might not have tons of money like you either.
- Nope, there isn't a fast way to save money if you have no income, which normally requires some sort of job. But here are some alternative ideas I have: 1) Try to work something out with your parents, if they are in a position to afford it. Maybe some sort of incentive program. Say, they give you $25 for every A you get on your report card. 2) This is kind of controversial -- and completely extreme, and I don't know how old you are, but. Once you're between 21-35, you may donate your eggs to couples who are not able to reproduce on their own. I'm talking $2,000-15,000 for an egg. Every woman is born with a limited amount of eggs, so keep that in mind. The process comes with risks and hurdles to overcome, but it's a hush-hush trend among lots of college women. 3) Discuss the option of having a part-time job at your school, presuming you're in college. If you're in high school, I know a lot of colleges look for students with work experience. I guess my last option would be to beg your mom to let you TRY to handle a job. There are good arguments for students in the workforce. *** ALSO, be VERY careful of jobs or quick deals that seem to give you lots of money for little work. It could be a scam!
- You save money by spending less than you make. So if you make, say, $40 a week babysitting, if you only spend an average of $10 per week, that means you save $30. It would take 30 weeks (roughly 8 months) to save up $900. Consider other ways to make money. Would your mom be willing to pay you to do more chores? When I was in high school I made $20 being the maid of the house. Obviously this may not fly if money is really tight in your family. You have to look at where you spend your money and try to cut back. Do you spend $5 a day at school for lunch/snacks/drinks? Over a school year, that would be around $900. Also, reevaluate your list, and think about if you really need those items. A computer (if you don't already have one) would be a wise choice; an LV bag would not.
