How to save money developing film?

I'm talking about my 35mm cameras. I don't want to waste money printing "bad" shots, or shots I don't like. Can I choose which pictures I want printed at the drugstore, or do I need to process the entire roll? Or is there another alternative?

  1. You can't tell them to only develop frames 10, 12 and 13 for example but what you can do is just have them develop the negatives and put the pictures on CD. Cost would only be a few dollars. Then you could look at the CD and print what you want. You could do it even cheaper by just having them develop the negatives and then choosing which ones you want printed.
  2. You need to tell them to just print the negatives for the pictures so you can then look at them and then you can have them just print the ones you want... If you can find a place local to where you are that prints Film prints still and doesn't send them out then you can have them just do certain prints. I think Cord Camera does... not sure where you are from so not sure if you have a Cord Camera where you are.... If the film is black and white you may higher a college Photo Student to develope the certain pictures for you... All can do black and white while some can also do color depends on who are you dealing with... I am a photo student so i know this very well... But try cord first and if they are black and white higher a student and they will work on them if you give them a reasonable amount
  3. Most photo processors would prefer you to print all your negatives. You have the option of processing the film only and pay a slightly higher price to have the ones you want printed later. You can also pay for the processor to digitize the roll of film on to a CD and then you can print them at home on your printer.
