how much money should i save for retirement?

i was wondering this so that i can figure out how much money i should put into my savings each pay check.

1. That depends on allot of things, such as how old are you? What age would you retire at? What return can you make on your money? How long could you live after retirement? Buy Microsoft Money and plug in the numbers.
2. the more the better. don't depend on the govt to help you in your golden years. not going to happen. dave says put 15% into retirement... see link
3. From each pay check try to save 10 - 15 % of your money. Let it grow over the years and after 30 years you will have a cool million or so. Depends on how much you make.
