  1. Short Answer: Don't spend it! Long Answer: Actually, "don't spend it" pretty much covers it. Before you buy anything, ask yourself if this is something you /need/, or something you /want/. Items you need include food, gas, and occasionally clothes (Although not in excess). Items you may want are video games, movies, and other luxuries. Don't go spending money on things you can live without. Also, a trick I hear often is "Pay yourself first". Whenever you get a paycheck, put some amount into your savings before doing anything else. Do not touch the savings save for an emergency.
  2. how are we going to get out of this situation if we all save we have to spend ourselves out of this recession.. dont bank any money cos you wont benefit from the interest....spend it and keep people in jobs.....buy british products....holiday in england..... check the labels in supermarkets and buy BRITISH. buy meat from butchers rather than supermarkets keep the farmer in business cos once he goes we are doomed...
  3. 1. Supermarket ...go for generic brands eg. Woolworth's brand rather than the popular labels...you save lot of money. 2. Buy unprocessed food...a lot cheaper than processed food 3. Fruits and veggies buy in bulk and store and use 4. Cut down on chocolates and crispies 5. Look for specials..of the week and grab them 6. Cut down unnecessary phone calls..unless absolutely necessary 7. Walk short distances rather than driving
  4. A lot of people are cooking from scratch these days so as to save money. This is the wrong thing to do, because gas and electricity are so expensive, you are actually spending more. You can save on fuel by changing your diet. Buy fizzy drinks, confectionery, crisps, popcorn, cakes and chocolate biscuits. You will not have to do any more cooking; and your gas and electric bills will benefit as a result.
  5. learn to do with out, don,t go out to eat, buy food in bulk, only drive when necessary, eat a lot of beans, don,t buy expensive cuts of meat, shop where you can ge a bargain, like ALDES, or save a lot turn elect things off when not used, we lived with a coal stove, and no electricity for 10 yrs , 1939 to 1949 and survived, [wasn't any electricity then] we hunted , and put a garden out each yr and canned a lot of things and walked where we wanted to go It was like camping 24/7
  6. plan and list you needs..like groceries..buy only what you need..join carpool to save on gas or walk short distances, schedule your washing and ironing of clothes, unplug appliances when not in use , clean your refrigeration, air conditioner or heater once a week to cut your bills
  7. cancel the satellite TV subscription look around the charity (thrift) shops. some of the clothes are new. I just bought a paid of new Barkers shoes for 8 pounds. well, almost new. sell your junk on ebay. it won't fetch much but it builds up a balance in paypal for you to spend on other stuff.
