What do you do when you want to get creative ideas?

I want to enter the duct-tape prom outfit scholarship contest. Right now, I want to think of more designs for prom outfits. Although I've thought of quite a few, I want to think up a few more. What do you do when you want more creative ideas? Prom dress, tuxes, trench coats, kimonos, wizard outfits, and any other type of prom outfit idea is welcome as well. Thank you!

  1. when i want to get creative, i look for things to inspire me.i listen to music watch tv or meditate to find my inner thoughts.but dont think to hard or else your brain will blank out
  2. If that first answer doesn't work for you? Look up Nylon tv. or other types of creative magazines. also try thinking "outside of the box"
  3. our thought process is based on past experiences, education, training and indoctrination and so if we want creative ideas( that means in future) we must go through or engaged our self in this four sided thought process ------ any one of these is missing would not stop from cognising creative ideas but it be weakened and quality will suffer therefor you should also go through this process according your field the time period depends on your mental calibre
  4. Personally, I engage in activities that I find inspiring or motivating. I am a writer and photographer and often find that participating in creative activities such as watching films and listening to music helps to open up my creative senses. I find that it is important to be able to open yourself up to a number of different creative outlets not just things directly in your field. You could try attending cultural or artistic events in your area such as music concerts or poetry readings or perhaps even exploring your town for interesting architecture and visual design. Alternatively, the internet is an amazing tool for gaining inspiration and forming ideas. Using a service such as "stumble upon" allows you to select your interests and randomly browse the web according to your selections. You could also explore websites such as; http://www.flickr.com http://www.deviantart.com/ http://www.noise.net http://www.artsconnect.com.au http://www.designflavr.com/ http://www.geocities.com/debverhoeven/beinganartist/ http://www.fashion.net/ http://www.fashiontrendsetter.com Moreover, you could try keeping an art journal filled with notes and images of things that you find inspiring in your day-to-day life.
