What are some interesting activities to do after retiring?
Well, my mom is retiring her job, she is really depressed and she thinks that she ain't gonna find anything to do later on. Her job was her life! She had fun with her colleagues and was so happy. I am a college student and I don't spend much time with her, dad is always at work, so definitely she would be bored. My siblings are living in another country. And we moved to another city 8 years ago cuz of dad's work, which means no relatives and no friends, also our neighbors aren't so friendly. So is there anything else she can do but watching TV and cooking?

- tell her to take up the piano or some other instrument. It can be challenging and fun, and who knows, she may actually turn out to be really good at it.
- she can do some social work to help her community . every community has some problems . we can help elderly persons who live alone . poor persons can need help. a single parent would appreciate it if someone she trusts takes care of her child when she goes out . there are many activities that can help members of the community . it helps both ways , the person who extends and the person who receives assistance .
- what was her job ? she can do something related to her job ... like opening a small training center .. to learn people what she have learned ... that how she keeps doing her job ... without too much effort and having fun ... you made me think of that now :D ... i guess i ll be doing wood art ... like ships and planes .. that would be much fun .

- Take her to a 3 day vacation. Or be absent from college for 1 day and be out all that day. Just let her feel that she will never be left with out hope, she will never be abandoned, and she will never be left alone. Good luck!
