Is ING Direct a good company to invest with?
I am thinking about opening up both a savings and investment account with ING Direct. Although I already have a retirement account with Fidelity, I am curious if ING has better products/services than Fidelity. Advice anyone? Thanks!

- Yes. ING's investment component is known as Sharebuilder.
- No, next question. Sharebuilder issues: read my post that starts out saying: "Well Butch, I have repeat postings on my views about Sharebuilder.com and none of them were positive." link: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtUcXMIkVT.ufXXSC7U8yVLty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090402185443AACbXIQ&show=7#profile-info-pzf9V7oiaa I find a lot of people have no clue what they are doing when it comes to investing. It's not their fault. Most people just don't have the training to understand how to evaluate one thing verses another; nor to analyze risk. Just because people don't understand risks, costs, and alternatives, does not exempt them from such risks.
- I have a savings account with ING and an investment account with Sharebuilder, and I've never had a problem with either one.
- If ING's first quarter figures turn out bad (like their Q4 2008 figures), a new sharp decrease of their share value is to be expected. The sentiments in the Netherlands are thus that a run on the bank is not unlikely. Next scenario step would be nationalization by Dutch government. This is all just worst case scenario, but still I wouldn't trust my retirement funds to ING.
